Job Description / Responsibility
Design, develop and implement the project plan, budget, operational modalities and monitoring system
Liaise with Education Emergency Cluster, other NGOs, relevant government agencies, civil society organization to ensure a coordination of effort and lesson sharing
Manage the Project team to ensure the project is implemented to a high quality standard, on time and within budget
Design and conduct Lessons Learned Workshops for all key stakeholders
Represent the PARSES project and the EEC to donors, government, UN agencies and other NGOs in relation to the project.
Work in collaboration with Government agencies, International bodies, Education Emergency Cluster and NGOs working on education and emergency disaster preparedness.
Educational Requirements
Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences or relevant disciplines
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in education, emergency preparedness and response including M&E and budget preparation.
Strong working knowledge on advocacy campaign and creating public awareness
Practical knowledge and skills on social mobilization and community development
First hand work experience around climate change/hazards vulnerability, risks and risk reduction actions including indigenous knowledge and coping strategies within the community.
Strong understanding on community vulnerability/risk analysis and assessment down to natural disasters
Familiarity with using participatory tools in analyzing/ assessing community vulnerability/risk caused by natural disasters involving all stakeholders of community.
Community-based disaster preparedness
Design and development of small scale mitigation works
Facilitating the coordination between Government organizations and local communities
Development/Implementation of emergency preparedness, Early Warning Systems
Strengthen Local Government and Institutional preparedness
Capacity Building/Training and IEC materials development on disaster preparedness and emergency response
Demonstrated experience implementing participative research methodologies
Proven experience of managing a high workload and multiple priorities
High standard of spoken and written English Language skills
